Building Permits & Inspections

Please contact City Hall at 217-226-3742 for all building permits.   

A building permit application must be obtained from the City Clerk and approved BEFORE any type of building project is started.  This includes building additions, garages, porches, sheds, portable sheds, fences, in-ground pools, driveways, new construction, etc.  A fine will be charged for any project started without obtaining a building permit first.
